Hines Ward Is Back After Exiting PUP List

The Steelers will see a familiar face at training camp as WR HInes Ward has exited the PUP list.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are getting healthier as WR Hines Ward has exited the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) and is now available to practice with the team.

Ward was recovering from a thumb injury, which required surgery back in June. He hadn't practiced to this point as he started Steelers training camp on the PUP list so this will be the first action of the new season for him.

Ward is obviously a critical member of the Steelers, who start the 2011-12 season as defending AFC champs. His offseason has been weird -- he won Dancing With The Stars, which is cool if you're into that sort of thing, but later got arrested for DUI, which is not so cool.

The Steelers are getting back to full health which isn't good news for the rest of the AFC. It seems like they win ten-plus games every year and I'd expect the same again this year.

Check out Behind The Steel Curtain to see what the Steelers fans are saying about Ward's return.
