We have a date for the 2011 NFL supplemental draft: Aug. 17. The NFL told teams of the draft date on Monday so it appears we may actually see a supplemental draft. According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, the league also told teams there were no players eligible for the supplemental draft -- yet.
The way the NFL supplemental draft works is a team will enter a silent bid on a player with 2012 draft picks as currency. So if a team puts in a fifth round pick bid on Pryor, and they're the highest bid, that team will be awarded Pryor and the corresponding 2012 draft pick will be taken away.
So we don't know yet whether Pryor or King will be eligible but, if they are, the supplemental draft will take place on Aug. 17. If no players are eligible for the supplemental draft then obviously it won't go down.
