Jacksonville Jaguars Sign Todd Bouman For The Seventh Time

The Jacksonville Jaguars brought back veteran quarterback Todd Bouman. Again.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have brought back veteran quarterback Todd Bouman. Again.

Head coach Jack Del Rio has already said that rookie Blaine Gabbert will start in the team's first preseason game against the New England Patriots on Thursday. Bouman will have the chance to compete with Gabbert but it is likely he will used in a backup role for the time being.

The Jaguars other quarterback, David Garrard, aggravated a back injury and will not attend the exhibition game.

This is Bouman's seventh stint with the Jaguars. He originally signed with them in 2007 as a backup for Quinn Gray. He returned to the team in the 2008 offseason but was released during final cuts. The Jaguars re-signed Bouman in 2009 but he didn't last too long once again. He was then resigned three more times between September and December 2010 as a stopgap due to injuries.

Bouman has also played for the New Orleans Saints, Green Bay Packers, St. Louis Rams and Baltimore Ravens.
