The Dallas Cowboys (2-1) head to South Beach to face the Miami Dolphins (2-1) for their final preseason game. They are fresh off a 23-17 victory over the Minnesota Vikings, which fell in their favor due to a blocked field goal returned for a touchdown. Tony Romo and all the others will play little, if at all, but Dan Bailey and Shayne Graham are still competing for the kicker's position.
Our Cowboys blog, Blogging the Boys, believes that head coach Jason Garrett is proving to be a daring coach following his decision to sit center Andre Gurode in favor of an undrafted rookie free agent signing. Gurode was subsequently released by the team on Monday.
The Dolphins dropped their first game of the 2011 preseason with a loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a 17-13 decision. But there was great promise shown when quarterback Chad Henne and wide receiver Brandon Marshall connected on a 60-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. Reggie Bush ran the ball five times and finished with a loss of one yard, but he is still the team's starter entering Week 1 of the regular season.
This game will also help the Dolphins decide who should make the final 53-man roster when it is due on Sept. 3. the Phinsider takes an early stab at who will make the cut. However, the offensive line turns out, the Phinsider isn't feeling very confident about it.
