Pro Bowl running back Maurice Jones-Drew will make his preseason debut tonight as the 1-2 Jacksonville Jaguars host the 3-0 St. Louis Rams in both team's final preseason tune-up before the regular season begins in ten days.Jones-Drew has been recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery and had been held out of the preseason thus far.
"I can't wait to go out there in a live period to see what it's like and take a couple of hits, get tackled hopefully and get ready for Week 1," Jones-Drew said this week via the Florida Times-Union.
Starters for the Rams are expected to play about a quarter tonight, with the focus of the night falling on the players fighting for spots at the back of the roster. No position on the Rams is more up for grabs than wide receiver, with 2011 mid-round picks Austin Pettis (third round) and Greg Salas (fourth round) fighting with second-year receivers Mardy Gilyard and Danario Alexander for spots on the 53-man roster.
