Tyrod Taylor Injury: Ravens Rookie QB Leaves Preseason Game With Arm Injury

Stay connected with SB Nation

Tyrod Taylor, the Ravens' sixth-round draft pick out of Virginia Tech, had been having a phenomenal preseason, enough to earn the second-string quarterback job and the start in the team's fourth and final preseason game. Then things took a turn for the worse for Taylor, as he left the game holding his left arm in discomfort.

He was taken immediately to the locker room, which isn't a good sign for the Ravens. Head coach John Harbaugh and Co. were counting on him being the team's second stringer, and his mobility and surprising accuracy have been on display for three-plus weeks during the preseason.

Now, presumed third-string QB Hunter Cantwell will play almost a full game here, and in doing so, can maybe pass Taylor on the depth chart with a strong performance.

UPDATE:

Chances are he won't, but this is good news for Ravens fans. Never like seeing a quarterback hurt his arm.
