Vince Young's Injury Is A Hamstring Strain

The Philadelphia Eagles played QB Vince Young in their preseason finale and came up limping at one point causing some Eagles fans to become a little concerned that their backup quarterback had a serious injury.

As it turns out, it's not serious. An MRI revealed a hamstring strain and is listed as day to day. The Eagles won't get back on the practice field until Monday so he'll have a few days off.

As SB Nation's Bleeding Green Nation says, Young showed pretty quickly after the injury that it likely wasn't serious.

While the injury looked like it could be serious the moment it happened, he actually seemed just fine soon afterward and didn't appear to be in serious pain. So to hear that it was just a strain is no shock. And really, it's no big deal because if all goes well, he's got a long season of rest in front of him.

As BGN notes, a good year for Young will mean he's on the bench all season with QB Michael Vick starting games.

Vince Young Injury: Eagles Backup QB Leaves Game With Leg Injury

After starting the Eagles' final preseason game, Vince Young was seen walking with trainers to the locker room after right hamstring injury just before the end of the first half.

Young pulled up lame on a bootleg with no one around him, prompting the Eagles' training staff to take action. Third-string quarterback Mike Kafka entered the game and will likely finish it out.

Kafka, for what it's worth, has far outperformed Young thus far in the preseason, but Young is a two-time Pro Bowl quarterback who can create with his legs and his arm, and well, is just an entertaining football player in every regard.

Though he won't return to this game, Young should be fine for Week 1, based on how he's reacting on the sideline:
