Though it hopefully won't end up having any direct affect on today's game, Philadephia Eagles backup quarterback Vince Young is inactive for today's game against the St. Louis Rams, per Adam Schefter reporting on ESPN NFL Countdown. Young has a hamstring injury and did not participate in practice.
Of course, Young was not expected to play today even if he was completely healthy, as Michael Vick would have been taking every snap under center. Young's injury will only come into play if Vick sustains an injury of his own, something even the biggest dog lovers and Eagles haters don't want to see. Okay...maybe dog loving Eagles haters wouldn't be too sad about that, but let's not wish injury on people, shall we?
Former Northwestern Wildcats quarterback Mike Kafka will be Vick's backup for Week 1. Kafka was a fourth round pick in 2010 and does not have any NFL passes in his career.
