Stay connected with SB Nation

St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson has a strained quad and his return is questionable. Jackson injured his quad on a 47-yard touchdown run in the first quarter of the Rams season opener versus the Philadelphia Eagles.

That was the Rams’ first offensive play of the game, and put them in front of the Eagles by a score of 7-0. The Eagles have since gone on to add two unanswered touchdowns to make it a 14-7 game heading into the second quarter.

If Jackson cannot return, Cadillac Williams and Jerious Norwood will take over rushing duties for Jackson. Fans and analysts wondered before the season started if Jackson would be able to stay healthy for the Rams. Jackson was supposed to be the key to the Rams offensive strategy against the Eagles today.
