Bill Belichick Drops F-Bombs On Derrick Mason, Uses 'Scoreboard' Taunt

Stay connected with SB Nation

Bill Belichick is just like the everyone else when it comes to taunting an opposing player. The grumpy head coach of the New England Patriots carries an ice-cold exterior, and doesn't take no crap from nobody. And setting him off by taunting him mid-game probably isn't the best idea. But hey, we'll give Derrick Mason props for attempting it.

NFL Network is running a behind-the-scenes show with Bill Belichick and the sound bites are simply fantastic. And the verbal sparring match between Mason and Belichick takes the cake. After Mason catches a pass for a first down, he exchanges words with the New England head coach, who responds in kind with a colorful barrage of words, including plenty of f-bombs.

The best part isn't the f-bombs, which are a staple of trash-talk and life in a professional sports league. No, it's the scoreboard taunt, a favorite rebuttal of a team in the lead. Belichick ends the argument by saying, "Can you look at the scoreboard?"
