After Jamaal Charles' Injury, Nothing Goes Right For Chiefs

Stay connected with SB Nation

Just about everything that could go wrong for the Kansas City Chiefs in the first half against the Detroit Lions did. RB Jamaal Charles was injured. QB Matthew Stafford threw two touchdown passes. QB Matt Cassel threw two interceptions, including one with less than a minute to go in the half.

The Lions lead the Chiefs at halftime, 20-3.

The Chiefs have three personal fouls and they may have lost their best player. Charles' injury happened in the first quarter and we don't have any updates on him. His knee certainly didn't look good when he went down.

Stafford looks really sharp connecting on 15-of-25 passes for two touchdowns. WR Nate Burleson, who said before the game he wanted to congratulate Chiefs CB Brandon Flowers on his new contract with a trip to the end zone, has six receptions for 66 yards.

Cassel has looked OK completing seven of ten passes but two of those three incompletions ended up turning into interceptions.

Not much is going right with the Chiefs and the most important one of them all, Charles' health, is in question.
