Remember that whole bit about Cam Newton figuring out this whole NFL thing? Well, maybe we spoke a little too soon. Since his impressive first quarter in which he threw for 151 yards and led the Carolina Panthers to scores on their first three possessions, he's been decidedly less impressive.
And by "less impressive" we of course mean he's been pretty bad. The Panthers have not scored since the first quarter, have fallen behind 20-13 to the Green Bay Packers and Newton has thrown three interceptions. As the third quarter comes to a close, the Panthers have ended three straight possessions with turnovers as a Steve Smith fumble coming in between a pair of Newton interceptions.
The last of Newton's interceptions showed how he has started to press. On 3rd-and-10 from the Panthers' 23, Newton basically threw up a prayer that was picked off at the Panthers' 49. The Packers turned that into a field goal.
