After releasing David Garrard and ushering in the Luke McCown era for the Jacksonville Jaguars, head coach Jack Del Rio might want to reconsider. McCown is 6/19 for 69 yards and four interceptions against the Jets, and it appears his atrocious performance could be paving the way for a certain first-round pick.
According to half of Twitter, but first reported by the NY Daily News' Manish Mehta, Jags' rookie Blaine Gabbert was warming up on the sideline after McCown's fourth pick. After the Jets turned that interception into a Nick Folk field goal to go up 32-3, Blaine Gabbert is in at quarterback.
The Jaguars picked Gabbert with the 10th pick in this year's draft, and many fans hoped he'd be the opening week starter. Now, the team gets to see why the Titans decided they'd rather have Jake Locker with the eighth pick.
