Jamaal Charles Injury: Chiefs RB Reportedly Out For Season With ACL Tear

Stay connected with SB Nation

According to ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter, via his twitter feed, Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles is likely out for the season with an ACL tear. Charles suffered the injury in the Chiefs' game against the Detroit Lions when he slipped on the first down marker on the sidelines following a play.

It's not like the Chiefs were doing well with Charles, either in Week 1 or in this game against the Lions when he was in the game, but the Chiefs are going to be in serious trouble without Charles. Last year's AFC West champions had playoff aspirations coming into the season, but at 0-2 and with Charles likely out for the rest of the year, those hopes have now diminished to an almost non-existent status.

Charles is scheduled to have an MRI on Monday to confirm that he does, in fact, have a torn ACL.
