Tony Romo took a bad hit at the very end of the first half between the Dallas Cowboys and San Fransisco 49ers. However, at the time, most wrote it off as the kind of thing that happens to quarterbacks all the time and assumed that he would come back in for the third quarter. Instead, Jon Kitna has taken the field for the Cowboys and will be in the game for the foreseeable future.
Romo came out of the locker room and was on the sidelines at the start of the quarter with his shoulder pads on, but was quickly taken back into the locker room for further examination. His injury is being reported as a rib injury, but the severity of the injury and the probability of his return are not yet being reported.
