Tom Brady led the New England Patriots to a 35-21 victory over the San Diego Chargers. Brady threw for over 400 yards in the air and had three touchdowns.
New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady continues to be a passing machine. While he fell short of his 517 yards against the Dolphins last week, Brady put the ball in the air for 423 yards and three touchdowns. Brady liberally spread out his 31 completions to seven difference receivers.
Deion Branch led all Patriots receivers with eight receptions for 129 yards, but it was the tight ends who found the end zone. Rob Gronkowski picked up 86 yards on four catchers and two of those were for touchdowns. Aaron Hernandez, after his big game last week, had seven catches for 62 yards and a 14-yard touchdown reception.
The Chargers' offense, however, wasn't dormant, either. Philip Rivers tried to match Brady's numbers. He wound up with 378 passing yards and two touchdowns. However, two interceptions hurt him. Wide receiver Vincent Jackson had a monster game, catching 10 balls for 172 yards and both touchdowns.
The 2-0 Patriots head to Buffalo next week to face the 2-0 Bills. The 1-1 Chargers are home against the struggling 0-2 Kansas City Chiefs.
