Former Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel has been hired by the Indianapolis Colts as a gameday consultant, according to a report.
So what's former Ohio State coach Jim Tressel going to be doing during the football season?
Working for the NFL's Indianapolis Colts. Phil Wilson of the Indy Star reports Tressel has been hired by the Colts as a "gameday consultant".
Colts have hired former Ohio State coach Jim Tressel as game-day consultant, coach Jim Caldwell said today. Tressel will be in booth, be replay consultant among other things.
I'm not even sure what a gameday consultant does, and why someone with the profile of Tressel would be considered for that job. Perhaps it's a regional thing since he's in the area but I just don't understand it with the Ohio State scandal barely in the rearview mirror.
It also makes you wonder what Tressel's next move will be. Is this a sign that he's looking to get into the NFL? He's been spotted at a couple of NFL training camps this summer so it makes you wonder.
