SB Nation's 2011 NFL power rankings for Week 3 are out and there are a couple of big risers and fallers on the list. That's usually to be expected early in the season as some teams aren't as good as we thought (Chiefs) and some teams are better than we thought (Bills).
The Buffalo Bills and Washington Redskins were a couple of our biggest risers this week.
I had the Bills ranked 21st last week after they stomped the Kansas City Chiefs, 41-7. Frankly, I thought it was a fluke but, for the second game in a row, the Bills proved me wrong. Head coach Chan Gailey knows how to make an average offense very good and he's demonstrating that with the Bills.
In addition to the Bills, the Redskins are rising up the board. I had them ranked 22nd last week after they beat the New York Giants in Week 1 and, like the Bills, I was wondering if this was a fluke. Week 2 proved me wrong as they edged out a victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Next up is Dallas week and, if Tony Romo is out, we could be seeing them get another victory and potentially move into the top 10.
The St. Louis Rams were one of my big fallers this week going from No. 15 to No. 22. I really thought this would be the team to come out of the NFC West but but an 0-2 start doesn't help things. The good thing is that, well, it's the NFC West. They can still come back.
