Tony Romo's Lung Injury Healed; Status Vs. Redskins Still In Question

Stay connected with SB Nation

Will Tony Romo's injury prevent him from playing against the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football? There's still no definitive word on that but the punctured lung he suffered last week has healed, ESPN's Calvin Watkins reports. That's a step in the right direction but Watkins reports his status for Week 3 is still in question.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported earlier this week, citing a person close to Romo, that he definitely wanted to give it a go and planned to play.

His other injury was a cracked rib and that's something that is usually a pain management issue, which means a pain killer injection help him work through that.

The Cowboys will issue their final injury report on Friday afternoon, which means they'll be listing Romo as probable, questionable, doubtful or out. My money would be on questionable, as there's no reason to give the Redskins any idea whether he'll play.

Check out Blogging The Boys where they've been tracking the Romo injury all week.
