Arian Foster Injury: Texans RB Is Questionable For Week 3

Stay connected with SB Nation

Arian Foster was expected to have another huge season for the Houston Texans after lead the league in rushing last year but things have been off to a rough start for the young running back. A hamstring injury has slowed him in the first two weeks and it has him questionable for Week 3. He missed practice on Wednesday and was a limited participant on Thursday.

For fantasy football players, this is not good news but, in the real world, the Texans have been doing just fine without him. They're 2-0 and rookie RB Ben Tate has rushed for over 100 yards in each of the first two games. It sounds like head coach Gary Kubiak plans to make Tate the starter this weekend.

Foster should be available to play but that doesn't mean he'll be the feature back. Hamstring injuries have a tendency to be nagging all year long if you don't give them time to heal and this has been troubling Foster since the preseason. The Texans have the luxury of a viable replacement behind him so they can take their time and work him back into the lineup slowly.
