The Detroit Lions were seemingly everybody's dark-horse pick this year. Through two games, they are making a lot people look really smart. The Lions are off to a 2-0 start and have now won six straight, dating back to last year. They are doing it with a ton offense, too, as they are averaging 37.5 points and 421 yards of offense in their first two games. As they head into a Week 3 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings, they actually find themselves as road favorites.
Matthew Stafford has been an absolute beast, tossing seven touchdowns and throwing for 599 yards. Wide receiver Calvin Johnson has already caught four touchdowns. The defense is allowing just 11.5 points per game. The season is just two games in, but the Lions have a lot to feel good about.
The Vikings have started in almost the opposite way. They are 0-2 after blowing a late lead to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week and suddenly find themselves in almost a must-win game in Week 3. Donovan McNabb looked significantly improved from his Week 1 debacle, but this offense still is very much built around Adrian Peterson.
