Kenny Britt entered Week 3 nursing a nagging hamstring injury, but after practicing on Friday, he was cleared to play Sunday. Unfortunately, his health didn't last long: he injured his right knee in the second quarter Sunday, an injury serious enough that he had to be carted off the field.
Britt caught a pass from Matt Hasselbeck and made a move to escape one Denver defender. His knee buckled, though, causing him to collapse to the ground. Adding insult to injury, Britt fumbled on the play, and the Broncos recovered. Britt appeared to lose control of the ball in part because he was in pain.
From Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean:
Team officials are calling Britt's return questionable. I think it's safe to say he's done for the day for #Titans
Britt has been one of the top receivers in the league thus far this season, notching 135 and 136 yards in his first two games, scoring three times. Facing a Broncos secondary that's missing Champ Bailey, the Titans were likely expecting a repeat performance from his first two games. Instead, they're left to wonder just how much time their star receiver will miss. Stay tuned for more updates.
