Texans Vs. Saints: Matt Schaub Having Himself A Day

Stay connected with SB Nation

If you were worried about the New Orleans Saints defense before Sunday, chances are you are not feeling any better about it at halftime of their game against the Houston Texans. Although they deserve some measure of credit for limiting the damage to just 16 points, the fact that they've given up 294 yards of offense, including 223 passing yards to Matt Schaub has to be a major concern.

Schaub, who entered the game with an unimpressive 450 yards in his first two games, could very well double that total with today's performance. The Texans quarterback has completed just 11 passes to reach that total, giving him an average of more than 20 yards per completion. The biggest of those was a 62-yard pass to James Casey.

Andre Johnson has been the biggest recipient of Schaub's passing. The big wide receiver has five catches for 104 yards. As is a recurring theme, though, he has so far been kept out of the endzone.
