The New York Giants needed a win over the Philadelphia Eagles to stay near the top of the hyper-competitive NFC East. They got that, by a 29-16 count, and knocked out Philly's sensational Michael Vick, too.
The Giants got four touchdown passes from Eli Manning, and two touchdown catches from Victor Cruz, who came into Week 3 with two career catches, and used them to bookend 16 straight points from Philadelphia that turned a scorching Giants start into a second half deficit. Ahmad Bradshaw had a huge day, too, running for 86 yards and tallying 53 receiving yards and a touchdown.
But New York's biggest play on the day wasn't one play; it was the beating the Giants laid on Vick, sending him out of the game more than once and eventually leaving him with a broken right non-throwing hand. The Giants moved to 2-1 on the season with the win, but sending the Eagles to 1-2 and leaving them with Mike Kafka as their healthiest quarterback might mean more in the long run.
