The NFL Network is reporting that Kenny Britt will undergo season-ending surgery Monday. Britt was carted off the field after injuring his right knee Sunday against the Broncos.
Multiple reports have indicated that the team fears a possible torn ACL and/or MCL, although the team won’t know for sure the extent of the damage until Britt undergoes an MRI on Monday. But if the NFL Network’s report is true, it seems the team’s initial evaluation was all they needed to see.
After Sunday’s game, Britt was able to walk out of LP Field, wearing a brace on his injured knee. Not surprisingly, he apparently wasn’t in the mood to discuss his situation. "My status is limping," he told reporters.
Titans head coach Mike Munchak had a bit more to say, but none of it was positive. "Obviously, it didn’t look good when he got hurt," he said. "We will have to wait until tomorrow to see the extent of that."
We’ll continue to monitor Britt’s situation, and update this StoryStream as more information is available.
