Oakland beat the Jets on the strength of their running game, including 171 yards and two touchdowns from Darren McFadden.
The New York Jets had no answer for Darren McFadden and the Oakland Raiders. McFadden ran for 171 yards and two touchdowns on just 19 carries. That included a highlight reel 70-yard touchdown run with just over four minutes left in the second quarter. Wide receiver Denarius Moore and running back Michael Bush added rushing touchdowns which contributed to the Raiders 34-24 win over the Jets.
The Jets offense found little room to run. Shonn Greene had 59 yards on 15 carries. Running back LaDanian Tomlinson led the Jets in receiving with 116 yards and one touchdown.
Oakland's defense sacked Jets QB Mark Sanchez four times on the afternoon. Middle linebacker Rolando McLain had 7 tackles. Safety Tyvon Branch had an interception. On the other side of the ball, the Jets secondary was mostly ignored by Oakland who elected to run the ball.
The schedule only gets tougher for the Jets next week as they travel to Baltimore. Oakland continues its tour of the AFC East next week, hosting the New England Patriots who will be anxious to erase a loss to the Bills today.
