Torrey Smith Stats Are Crazy As Ravens Receiver Runs Riot Over Rams

Torrey Smith is a highly talented rookie wide receiver out of Maryland, but until Week 3, he hadn't done much for the Baltimore Ravens offense. He made appearances in both of the team's first two games, but did not record a reception. He finally had his coming out party on Sunday, catching five balls for 152 yards and three touchdowns against the St. Louis Rams. His first three receptions on the day - and therefore, his first three of his career - all went for touchdowns. How rare is that? Behold:

Torrey Smith is first rookie since 1991 to have first 3 NFL receptions go for TDs. Can only research back to '91 though. Could be 1st ever

Unfortunately, there are rumors circulating that Smith has picked up some sort of injury. If it's anything serious, it would be a seriously sad end to a spectacular day. Smith's speed is top tier, and he's about to be on the receiving end of a whole lot of hype.

Hilariously, Smith received a lot of criticism earlier this week, which Ravens General Manager Ozzie Newsome called ridiculous. Maybe Newsome knows what he's talking about.
