NFL Power Rankings Week 4: Detroit Lions On The Other Side Of The List These Days

Stay connected with SB Nation

Despite being 3-0, the Detroit Lions have been mostly relegated to an "isn’t that nice" footnote. Don’t look now, but Matthew Stafford and his team are getting major notice in this week’s power rankings.

ProFootballTalk.com puts Detroit third on their list, behind the Packers and the Saints. Peter King puts them at number five on his list. The Lions land at number eight at SB Nation, where their comeback win against the Vikings is noted.

The old Lions go on the road, get down by 20 points in the first half and lose. The new Lions make a stunning comeback and win.

Pundits making the power rankings once reserved a spot for the Lions at the bottom of their list. Those days are over.

As for the worst team in the league, there is some room for debate with five teams still looking for their first win. Kansas City seems to be getting the most votes. Even SB Nation Kansas City puts the hometown team on the bottom.

We assume a historically poor start means a historically bad team until proven otherwise.
