Sep 27, 2011 - The Indianapolis Colts have signed quarterback Dan Orlovsky, according to a report by the Associated Press. The Colts are very familiar with Orlovsky, given that he spent training camp and some of the preseason on the roster.
Starting quarterback Kerry Collins suffered an injury against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football and left the game with "concussion-like" symptoms. The Colts have not officially said Collins suffered a concussion, but it's clear that it's possible Collins could miss the game thus weekend.
The Colts quarterback position has been a major question mark after the news broke of four-time league MVP Peyton Manning's neck injury forcing him into another surgery. The team scrambled to sign Collins in lieu of starting Curtis Painter prior to the end of the preseason. Saying Collins has been ineffective would be generous, and he's also not been able to stay healthy. The Colts are sitting currently at 0-3, and aside from the reported addition of Orlovsky, Curtis Painter is the only healthy quarterback on the roster.
