The Tennessee Titans are looking for a replacement to WR Kenny Britt, who tore his ACL and will miss the rest of the 2011 NFL season. Britt was clearly their top receiver so they won't totally replace him but they do need another wideout for the season.
Multiple reports indicate that the Titans tried out five receivers on Tuesday, including David Clowney, Craig Davis, Mardy Gilyard, Johnnie Lee Higgins and Tiquan Underwood.
Clowney has been bouncing around the league ever since the Packers drafted him in the fifth round of the 2007 NFL draft. He's also played for the Jets and Panthers. Craig Davis, better known as Buster Davis, was the Chargers first round pick in the 2007 NFL draft while Mardy Gilyard was a fourth round pick in 2010. Johnnie Lee Higgins spent four years with the Raiders before getting picked up by the Eagles and Tiquan Underwood was cut by the Patriots.
Matt Hasselbeck is off to a very good start which is why Britt's injury is so disappointing. Whoever is brought in to bolster the receivers won't be able to make the impact Britt was able to make.
