St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson returned to practice today. Jackson has been dealing with a quad injury suffered in the Rams’ season opening loss to the Eagles. Though still listed as limited, it could signal that Jackson’s load will increase this week against Washington.
Jackson played last week. He carried the ball four times in a 37-7 loss to the Ravens. His backup, Cadillac Williams, did the bulk of the rushing work. Jackson was limited to short yardage work as his thigh would not allow him to hit full speed in the open field.
He is still listed as limited in the official practice report, but this is a good sign that his workload could increase this week. The Rams could certainly use Jackson in the lineup, giving their struggling offense some star power. The team is still seeking its first win.
