Chris Gocong Signs Three-Year Extension With Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns and linebacker Chris Gocong have come to terms on a three-year, $16.8 million contract extension.

The Cleveland Browns and linebacker Chris Gocong have come to terms on a three-year, $16.8 million contract extension, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Gocong has been with the Browns since April 2010 when he was traded from the Philadelphia Eagles along with cornerback Sheldon Brown in exchange for linebacker Alex Hall, and 4th and 5th round draft picks in the 2010 NFL Draft.

He played in all 16 games for the Browns last season, collecting 75 total tackles, 50 solo, two sacks and one forced fumble. So far in the 2011 season he has nine tackles and 0.5 sacks with four of those tackles coming in last weekend's 17-16 win over the Miami Dolphins.

Gocong was drafted by the Eagles in the third round of the 2006 NFL Draft and has accumulated 253 tackles, 6.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles over his six-year NFL career.
