The Ravens and Jets have both looked strong on offense and defense, but the oddsmakers seem to think this will be a defensive battle.
The New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens combine to score 56 points a game, but their defenses only allow a combined 33 points. Clearly something is going to have to give. Right now, it looks like the oddsmakers think it will the offense, as the over/under is currently pegged at just 40 points.
The Ravens are favored by 3 points at home, which is basically what home-field advantage will get you, implying this would be even if played on a neutral field. Baltimore is coming off a masterful performance against the St. Louis Rams in which they rolled up 37 points and looked dominant on defense. The Jets looked considerably more porous against the Oakland Raiders, who scored 34 points in handing New York its first loss of the season.
