Two fast-rising teams square off as the Detroit Lions visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs head into the game as a slight favorite, but if the over/under is any indication, points are sure to be plentiful in this match-up.
Two up-and-coming teams kick off their NFL campaigns on Sunday, September 11th, as the Detroit Lions travel to Florida to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Vegas has Tampa Bay tabbed as the early favorites, and from the looks of it, taking the Bucs at -1 (-115) seems to be the popular choice over the Lions at +1 (-105).
Nonetheless, this one is about as close as they come. Both teams are stockpiled with young, athletic players at the skill positions on either side of the ball. The two big match-ups to look out for are Matt Stafford and Calvin Johnson versus Josh Freeman and Mike Williams. Each young quarterback-receiver duo has the potential to rise into the league's elite, and is sure to have a tremendous impact on how each team performs as the season presses on.
As such, oddsmakers have this matchup pegged as one of the more high-scoring affairs of the weekend. The over/under for the game currently rests at 41 points, with no clear indication of public sway (-110 for either side).
