The loss of David Garrard wasn't enough for oddsmakers to declare the Jacksonville Jaguars underdogs in their Week 1 matchup against the Tennessee Titans.
Despite the surprising release of longtime starting quarterback David Garrard, the Jacksonville Jaguars open up Week 1 of the NFL season as one-point betting favorites over the Tennessee Titans.
Bettors are hoping that the drop-off from Garrard to Luke McCown won't be a significant enough factor to cast the Jaguars as underdogs in their own stadium. Though an overriding factor in the odds may be Tennessee's own uncertainty at the quarterback. With free-agent signee Matt Hasselbeck leading the huddle, and new head coach Mike Munchak in charge, no one knows for certain what to expect out of the Titans' offensive attack.
As such, Vegas set the over/under on this contest at a mere 37 points, one of the lowest totals for Week 1. The current line for either side is -110.
