Led by Pro Bowl running back Jamaal Charles, the Kansas City Chiefs open Week 1 of the NFL season as seven point favorites over the Buffalo Bills.
The Buffalo Bills enter Week 1 of the NFL regular season in the exact same place they left off eight months ago -- sporting one of the league's rising young receivers, a blossoming quarterback under center, and absolutely no respect. Oddsmakers have locked the Bills as one of the opening week's biggest busts, casting them as 7-point underdogs to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Fresh off a depressing 4-12 campaign -- the franchise's sixth straight of the losing variety -- Buffalo enters the year once again hoping for a reversal of fortunes. With a promising offensive attack led by Ryan Fitzpatrick and Steve Johnson, the Bills hope to rack up enough points to support a defense that ranked near the bottom of the NFL last season.
But it's not going to be easy. Last year Kansas City surprised everyone outside the state of Missouri by riding a staunch defensive unit and relentless rushing attack to the AFC West title. With burgeoning stars Matt Cassel and Jamaal Charles returning to the helm, the Chiefs hope to win back-to-back division titles for the first time in franchise history.
As a result of two capable offenses headlining this contest, Vegas has currently parked the over/under at 40 points.
