The New Orleans Saints are, once again, off to a blazing start on Sunday. Facing the Carolina Panthers in their season-finale, and needing a win to have any chance to get a first-round bye, the Saints needed just four plays to take a 7-0 lead. Backup running back Chris Ivory made the drive's big play, rushing the final 35 yards for his first touchdown of the season.
Ivory has not a huge part of the Saints' offense this year, playing in just his sixth game of the season. Since returning to the field in Week 8, though, he has slowly worked himself back into the fold. This will be his fourth straight game with at least 35 yards rushing and he has averaged 49.4 yards rushing in his first five games.
It's unlikely that he's going to be a huge part of the Saints offense in the playoffs, but getting him going is clearly nothing but a good thing.
