Patriots Vs. Bills Score Update: New England Surges, Tom Brady Tops Dan Marino

Stay connected with SB Nation

That 21-0 lead the Buffalo Bills had on the New England Patriots? Poof. Now it's New England ahead 28-21 in Week 17 after 28 consecutive points.

It should surprise no one that Tom Brady has triggered much of that scoring, and surprise just as many that Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski have figured in the explosion. Brady has 236 yards through the air, passing Dan Marino for second on the all-time list for passing yards in a season, and has chucked touchdown passes to Hernandez and Gronkowski. Hernandez has four catches for 81 yards; Gronkowski has five catches for 60 yards.

What's more, some of the Patriots' characteristic chicanery has been on display. Danny Woodhead ran in a two-point conversion to give New England a full touchdown's advantage.

The Bills, meanwhile, have converted just one of six third downs.
