NFL Scores Week 17: Lions Vs. Packers Final Score, Green Bay Wins 45-41 Without Aaron Rodgers

The Green Bay Packers beat the Detroit Lions by a score of 45-41 to close out the regular season. The Lions open the playoffs next week, while the top-seeded Packers get a week to cool their heels.

It was a shootout in Green Bay, as the Packers and the Detroit Lions combined to score 86 points in one final tune up before both teams make a trip to the playoffs. Green Bay ultimately won by a final score of 45-41 behind backup quarterback Matt Flynn. Flynn found tight end Jermichael Finley for a final touchdown with less than two minutes left on the clock.

Flynn finished the game with an array of stats that could be confused with a performance from Aaron Rodgers. The Packers' starting quarterback sat out this game, resting before the playoffs. Flynn completed 31 of 44 passes for 480 yards, six touchdowns and one interception. Jordy Nelson was the primary beneficiary of Flynn's arm. Nelson had three touchdowns and 162 yards on nine receptions. Donald Driver, Jermichael Finley and Ryan Grant also scored a touchdown each.

Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford finished the game with 520 passing yards, which was a single-game high for the NFL this season. Stafford also had five touchdown passes and two interceptions, including a last minute pick that sealed the Lions' fate. Calvin Johnson caught 11 passes for 244 yards and a touchdown.

Detroit finishes the regular season with a 10-6 record and a wildcard ticket to the playoffs. This is the first time since 1999 that the Lions have made a trip to the postseason.

Green Bay, the defending Super Bowl champs, own the top spot in the NFC with a 15-1 record. They have a first-round bye and home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
