Hey guys, remember when Michael Turner was called 'The Burner'? Yes, he used to be very fast. Now, he is a large power back with respectable speed for a very large person. Still, respectable speed for a very large person doesn't mean 81-yard breakaway speed, which is exactly what Michael Turner showed on this touchdown run. This put the Atlanta Falcons up 42-0 on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Seriously.
Is this a case of the Bucs' defense quitting? This is not an unfair question to ask. Michael Turner hasn't shown the kind of speed required to break off a run like this since he was in San Diego. The Bucs have been downright awful in the second half of the season, and Raheem Morris will likely be out of a job tomorrow. Meanwhile, the Atlanta Falcons will lock up the fifth seed in the NFC if they win this game (they're going to win this game).
