Stay connected with SB Nation

No NFL fanchise has appeared in more post-seasons than the New York Giants (30) and no team has won more championships (29) or has a better post-season winning percentage than the Green Bay Packers (.644). Given the storied nature of these the Giants and Packers, it's of little surprise that Sunday will be the seventh time they have met in the playoffs.

In those six playoff games, the Packers are 4-2. Five of the games decided NFL Championships in the pre-Super Bowl era and the last time the Packers beat the Giants in the post-season, John F. Kennedy was President of the United States.

The Giants won the only playoff meeting in the Super Bowl era, a 23-20 overtime win in the 2007 NFC Championship Game in a frigid Lambeau Field. Giants cornerback Corey Webster intercepted an errant pass from then-Packers quarterback Brett Favre to set up a game-winning 47-yard field goal by Lawrence Tynes.
