NFC Divisional Playoffs, Giants Vs. Packers: Lawrence Tynes Says 2008 Kick In OT Made His Career

Stay connected with SB Nation

The "rematch" between the New York Giants and the Green Bay Packers will undoubtedly be a storyline heading into Sunday afternoon's divisional round match up in the 2012 NFL Playoffs. The Giants beat the Packers 23-20 in overtime on a kick by Lawrence Tynes and propelled the Giants to the Super Bowl.

In a press conference on Wednesday, Tynes mentioned that the kick essentially making his career. "Yeah, I wouldn't be talking to you right now. I mean if you miss three kicks in the fourth quarter of a championship game, I mean I would assume that I probably wouldn't be here," Tynes told reporters. "I was on a one-year deal anyway. I have done a great job since then, I have had a nice career here, but obviously you do have to think what if I didn't make that kick."

Undoubtedly, if Tynes misses that kick he's likely not on the Giants roster right now.
