Jan 14, 2012 - We're down to eight teams left in the 2012 NFL playoffs and the actions kicks off again on Saturday. Two games highlight the Saturday NFL playoff schedule, both of which hold appeal for different reasons. The action begins in the late afternoon on the East Coast as the New Orleans Saints take their high-powered offense to San Francisco to face the 49ers.
In a classic grind-it-out defense vs. prolific offense matchup, the 49ers will try to slow down Drew Brees' Saints in the first matchup of the day. San Francisco head coach Jim Harbaugh has instilled a hard-nosed attitude in his first season at the helm, but faces a difficult task on Saturday.
The late game is, perhaps, the most anticipated of the divisional round of the NFL playoffs as the Denver Broncos hit the road to face the New England Patriots. The matchup itself isn't so much the draw -- the Patriots should hold a significant advantage on paper -- but Tim Tebow mania has hit a fever pitch in the run-up to the game. And here we are, with non-stop Tebow coverage that's almost reduced Tom Brady and the Patriots to an afterthought throughout the week.
Here's the schedule and TV information for Saturday:
New Orleans Saints vs. San Francisco 49ers, 4:30 p.m. on FOX
Denver Broncos vs. New England Patriots, 8 p.m. on CBS
