This wasn't a good hit at all; I want to make that clear from the start. It was helmet-to-helmet, though not a penalty because Pierre Thomas was a runner. Still, Donte Whitner laid a massive hit on Thomas as their two heads collided, leaving the Saints running back out cold.

Let's ignore the hit for a moment, though. It's what came after that I found interesting. Whitner knew he knocked Thomas out, knew the ball was on the turf and didn't even care. He basically dropped the mic and walked right off stage.
I can think of a more apt description of Whitner here than PTI came up with.
Donte Whitner walked away from that hit flexing like "I've done my part. Clean up the mess, fellas."
