Broncos Vs. Patriots: Time For Tim Tebow And Broncos To Do It Again

The New England Patriots host the Denver Broncos in what will end up being one of the most hyped games of the year. The divisional round matchup takes place on Saturday night and not many folks are giving Tim Tebow and the Broncos a shot.

SB Nation's Broncos blog, Mile High Report, has their prediction on the game and tells us why the Broncos will win and why they'll lose.

Why The Broncos Will Win: A couple of reasons. First, the Patriots have all the pressure on them while the Broncos are playing with house money. New England is 4-4 in their last 8 playoff games, and has been bounced at home the past two years. If there is a chink in the Brady/Belichick armor, that is it. Denver also comes in with the confidence of a team that did what most didn't think they could do - beat the Pittsburgh Steelers through the air. We can talk about the defense Pittsburgh ran, or the injuries they had, but Dick LeBeau was only forcing the Broncos to do what he didn't think they could do, and the Broncos are just as banged up. Lastly, the Broncos have a solid pass rush and last week were able to get to Big Ben while only rushing three. That will be huge this week.

Why The Broncos Will Lose: There are just as many reasons the Broncos will lose. First, Denver's recipe for disaster was on display in Week 15. Three turnovers in 9 plays turned a 9-popint lead into a 13-point halftime deficit and the game was over. Denver must protect the ball and control the clock - two things they CAN do against this defense. Of course, Tom Brady - like all great athletes - can take the smallest perceived slight and turn it into monster motivation. There is no question he sees all the attention Tim Tebow is receiving and will use that to fuel the competitive fire.
