2012 NFL Playoffs, Broncos Vs. Patriots: Denver Punts The Ball Back To New England

After the New England Patriots scored another touchdown after recovering a Tim Tebow fumble, the Broncos began another drive with some poor field position thanks to a short return by wide receiver Matt Willis. The Broncos were assisted by an offsides yard penalty by Vince Wilfork on first down, but they were stuffed for a loss on the next play running the option.

On second down, Tim Tebow connected with Demaryius Thomas for a 6-yard gain that looked like a fumble, but the umpires ruled forward progress had stopped. Willis McGahee bounced the ball outside on the next play for a 17-yard gain on third-and-1, but three plays later following two incomplete passes the Broncos were forced to punt the ball away.
