Read More: Tom Brady (QB - NEP), New England Patriots, Denver Broncos
The New England Patriots started their third drive of the game on their 13-yard line already leading 14-0 having scored touchdowns on their first two drives of the game. After a Wes Welker drop, BenJarvus Green-Ellis rushed for five yards and Tom Brady, having thrown two touchdown passes already, hit Wes Welker for a first down at the 25.
The very next play, however, Brady made his first real mistake of the game, floating a pass way over the head of tight end Rob Gronkowski and right into the waiting hands of Quinton Carter, who returned it 17 yards before being absolutely stuck by Aaron Hernandez at the Patriots' 24.
The pick set up Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos in field goal range and in striking distance to make this a one-score game. The Patriots' 31st-ranked defense has to hold to keep them at arms' length.
