2012 NFL Playoffs, Broncos Vs. Patriots: Denver Pinned Deep Goes Three And Out

After the Denver Broncos forced a New England Patriots punt, they got the ball pinned inside the 10-yard line. On the first play of the drive the Broncos picked up five yards on a run by running back Willis McGahee. On second down, the Broncos tried to run the football again with Willis McGahee, but he was only able to pick up one yard on the play.

On third down, the Broncos opted to run the football again but this time with quarterback Tim Tebow running an option play. Tebow rolled out to the left with the running back shadowing him to the left, but the Patriots had the play dead in the water. Tebow hesitated on whether he should pitch the ball or not and was tackled for just a one yard gain, leaving the Broncos to punt the ball back to the Patriots.
