2012 NFL Playoffs, Denver Vs. New England: Broncos Go Three And Out, Punt The Ball Back To Patriots

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Denver Broncos got the football back after the New England Patriots scored another touchdown to push their lead to 21-7. On the first play of the drive, Tim Tebow was nearly picked off on a pass to wide receiver Eddie Royal. The Patriots defender jumped the route and got a hand on the ball, but it certainly would have been an interception for a touchdown had he caught the football.

On the very next play the Broncos ran another option play, but this time Tim Tebow pitched the football to Eddie Royal who was only able to pick up one yard on the run. On third-and-long, Tebow dropped back to pass and was nearly sacked by the Patriots defense, but was able to scramble, spin, and throw the football away before he went down. The Broncos once again punted the ball back to the Patriots.
