Ed Reed Injury: Ravens Safety Rolls Ankle, Expected To Be Fine

The Baltimore Ravens beat the Houston Texans on Sunday, booking themselves a trip to New England for the AFC Championship game. They got a big scare on the second-to-last play of the game with safety Ed Reed went down with an ankle injury. Fortunately for the Ravens, Reed's injury looks like a minor one, a rolled ankle.

Reed told reporters immediately following the game that he would be fine, according to Aaron Wilson of Fox Sports. Albert Breer of the NFL Network later reported that X-rays on Reed's ankle came back negative, and he wold not need a follow-up MRI.

Reed made the play of the game, intercepting Texans quarterback T.J. Yates with two minutes left to play. That stopped a Texans drive that was proceeding down the field, looking to close a four-point gap. Houston got the ball back one more time in the game's final seconds when Reed rolled his ankle.
